Low Cost Hits

I am continually asked how to get low cost or free hits to pages. This is a continual process and there are lots of methods. My preferred method is to search for similar newsletter websites, not the largest, but with maybe 2500 subscribers. I have found that newsletters with 2500, or fewer subscribers are very reasonable on advertising rates. Make sure they are very similar to the main content on your website; Check out the newsletter for a couple months, or read the archived articles. You still have to do your homework.

If, you are convinced they are closely related to your content;  take advantage of their offerings. Link exchanges, pay for advertising, article submission; some even offer free advertising. Don't forget the forums, they are one of the best and quickest ways to get hits to your site. Again, make sure how the people on the site react to advertising; try to give advice instead of advertising, and you will do a lot better. Most will allow signature files at the end of your posts; if so, take advantage and use yours. You might even strike up a joint venture with the site owner, if you have been actively participating in their site and forums.

My personal results using these methods have been pretty successful. I would estimate that around 80% of my subscribers came from one of the above methods. Be prepared to spend some time accomplishing your task using this method. It is a lot slower than using pay per click methods; but the cost is very reasonable if you have the time.

Public Domain Links

I have been receiving requests for public domain data and will be placing the links in the forum. Maybe I will be able to get a little more activity in the forum by placing requested info there. I still prefer to use the forum.

Search Engine Tips

After finding suitable niche(s) start using keywords to find the top rated websites on the various search engines. Make a list of top rated websites. Check out Yahoo to see their listings. If the website is high on both, they are either paying big bucks, or have optimized their sites for rankings.

Study their websites and see how they are designed. Read their sales letters and learn what they are doing and how. Check out the products being offered, see if there is any way to improve upon them. Check out forums and see what is being written about the products.

   Creating Website

Need some headers or other word type graphics? Try This

This can be accomplished using several text editors. The trick is to save your page as web page. There are many WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editors available.

I personally, use MS Word for creating my pages and then use some HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language)to enhance it. I save it as a webpage, and it keeps it as HTML. Of course, these pages have to be uploaded to a website usually with some brand of FTP(File Tranfer Protocol) to be uploaded to your host.

Sorry, I don't know of any tricks yet, but I keep looking. Most tricks are related to search engine optimization. From what I'm reading, once the search engines find out about the trick, they change their algo-rhythm. You probably want to stay away from tricks in internet marketing. Unless it's some kind of magic trick your trying to sell.
