Basically, the same thing is true for an Internet Business. The best sales letters or sales person's in the world are worthless without pretty specific and significant traffic to take advantage of it. Without traffic neither type business will be successful. I have seen some quality products developed and because the webmaster didn't know how to promote the product and get the traffic all was lost. I have also seen the case of someone else buying exclusive rights to the product and making a fortune. The difference was the second person new how and where to promote the product Everything else can be perfect but without traffic the potential will never be realised. I know several good marketers that spend lots of hours searching the Internet for just such products. They will try to obtain control of the product and then promote the product in a manner that brings enough traffic to make the effort successful. There have been fortunes made using this very method. It would be wise for the developer to spend some time finding some good promoters and let them take care of the traffic. This may require giving the promoter the lions share of the profit; but without sales the product isn't worth anything. If you find the right and best way to promote your product, you Will both succeed and it will have been worth your time and effort. Most Used Method Of Getting Traffic...Most successful Internet marketers use affiliates to reach a larger market they also try to capture the email address of the prospect. Each of these affiliates are trying to make some money by promoting and selling your product. In return you are paying them a commission for any sales they may make. This is a win win situation for you and your affiliate since both are making money. You need to use every legal and ethical method you can think of to grow your business; if the prospect buys they should be added to a special email list. If the product sold was a quality product and did what it was supposed to do; you will have a satisfied customer. Satisfied customers are a very good source for future sales of products. Even, if the prospect didn't buy, they should be added to a more general list if possible for later promotions. If they visited, they will have some interest in your area and will be more targeted than many others. Sales come from traffic, and the more targeted the traffic the better. I mentioned affiliate sales because I don't know of any successful Internet marketer that doesn't use this method.
