Why Use Auto Responders?

Because they work and keep on working...

Auto Responders can keep your business up and running even when your not there. If you set them up correctly in conjunction with your website and server they are an amazing and large part of you business. I learned several things the hard way and should have listened to associates earlier. I was just too busy to go through the process and it has cost me a lot of time and trouble.

I have always tried to stay away from auto responders, mainly because I receive to many individual emails. That's really funny today, I wasn't using auto responders prior to spam; since spam, I really dislike them. The only problem I have encountered, is that my subscriber list is growing and I am spending a lot of time answering similar questions using email.

Just about everyone else I know use auto responders, and they tell me they are a necessity; if you want to stay in, or conduct business. I have been paying for one that I don't use for some time now. Maybe, since I have received some email from subscribers asking me to notify them of updates to the webpages; I'm going to start. I can have up to 500 different auto responders so it will allow me to break the subscriber list into several different areas based upon what you want.

I have been paying for one for over a year now, but have been so busy working on other projects; I still haven't got it set up right. I have decided that I have reached the point I have to have some automation in my work. I think that an  auto responder should be the first choice; they do allow for instant communication with subscribers. I can also set the autoresponder to send out messages; even when I'm not here, that's the reason they talk about 24/7. I am beginning to create enough content that it may be worth while. I have been asked to create some courses related to Internet marketing, and instead of creating a complete e-book; I could set it up a chapter at a time and send it out using the auto responder.

I haven't heard of anyone else in Internet marketing, that doesn't use some form of auto responder. Guess I've just been stubborn, and lazy; because I knew I would have to learn how to use one. I made a decision early on, that I would find less expensive methods to conduct business on the internet. I was wrong, I should have set up the auto responder first. Now that my subscriber base has grown, I think it is more expensive in time and effort than I can afford. I have considered using my blog and posting new info on it; but I'm not sure how many visitors go to my blog.

I still haven't found a good way to move my subscribers from this host over to my third party auto responder host. The third party host wants more data than has been collected to subscribe to this list. Mainly your ISP address. Because of this problem, I decided it should be called to other people's attention. When making decisions about anything, you need to look at it closely and make sure it will work in your present situation. It is important to make sure everything you plan to use is compatible. I have purchased 2 different things recently, and both have created big headaches for me in trying to implement them. I am slowly getting smarter about asking upfront questions instead of after the purchase.

I am now convinced that auto responders is a must have item, and I will have to take the time to learn how to use it. The only problem I see is that most all auto responders have their own particular vaariables to set up. This means that there will be a learning curve; before it will become a useful tool. Today, I would recommend starting with an auto responder early in the start up cycle. Read below, to see why I would set up auto responders early in the start up process.

After my original members have the opportunity to sign up on the auto responder, I will change the jump page to a thank you letter for joining. I didn't do it now, because I have referrals from other sites to this site. I would like to get everyone onto the new auto responder becuase it allows so many different ways to contact subscribers.Eventually, all subscribers will be sent directly to the auto responder, and each of my subscriber lists will be kept separate. This hasn't been as easy as I thought, I've had some errors and lost the info on the first try. Please bare with me until I get this resolved.

If you are a previous subscriber please Click Here to be added to new auto responder it doesn't mean you will get anymore email from me. I'm just trying to get everyone here on one list.

Thanks for being patient and putting up with me...Darell

Auto responders are OK, if your smart enough to get everything set up right. According to some of my friends, there is nothing difficult about setting them up. They started early and hadn't already created a list of subscribers before trying to set up their auto responder. Sooner or later, I may get this all figured out, but right now it's pretty aggravating. Maybe, once I get every thing in one place it will be much easier. I know,  that I will have to change the way my subscribers are handled and it won't happen with this hosts "all or nothing" auto responder. Every place I have a "Subscribe" button will have to be changed to a link to the auto responder.

I would also like to break my list into active participants and inactive as well as those that use my affiliate links to purchase products. Again, this is something my friends suggest and it makes sense that you would want to know who is active and participating. This would allow me to make better decisions about what subscribers are interested in and that's important information.

Auto responder lists that are managed and maintained can be a very valuable tool for any webmaster that wishes to keep in touch with subscribers. It also allows for getting information out immediately in the case of something that is time sensitive. I would suggest starting out with an auto responder as soon as possible to eliminate the problems I have encountered.
