Success or Failure
Can be Determined
By The Use of Words

Online marketing is very dependent upon the use of words since webpages are made up mainly of the written word. Careful use of words can convey the thoughts wanting to be conveyed; but most webmasters choose to test before running a new campaign. The reason is that even the smallest confusion in the use of words can lead to failure. The cost of a campaign is determined by the success of promoting the product or service using a given set of words. This can mean either success or failure as far as profit is concerned.

Words are used as one of the main methods of communication whether written or spoken. Both cases can lead to the same results success or failure. Carfully chosen words will convey the thoughts intended while even one misplaced or wrong word can lead to entirely different set of thoughts. A good example of this was the President of the United States in a short statement created a big turmoil. One word in the statement led to all kinds of negative and highly emotional conversation and action. The President said he hadn't calibrated his choice of words very well. It takes a lot more work and time to try and correct a statement than to be careful in the original choice of words. The old saying "to think before you speak" is very true.

Have you ever been in a heated discussion, and in the heat of anger, said something that you later regretted? If not, you are one of the lucky few. Our words usually are trying to convey a feeling or emotion in some specific direction. It's too bad we can't make things crystal clear; but words in many cases have more than one meaning. The person we are trying to reach may interpret the meaning differently thus leading to a completly different thought than anticipated. The problem is even more exagerated while trying to talk with a person using a different main language. Some words in one language can mean something entirely different in another language. Other clues to meaning can be used when speaking with a person face to face but this isn't always possible.

The solution to many problems between cultures comes from the misunderstanding in our communication. We need to look for things in which we agree and then establish a set of thoughts and feelings in each that are similar. Then it may be possible to more effectively understand the areas of concern and difference. Without a set of terms we each understand and can empathise with communication will be very difficult.

Here is a video that I feel I completely got what they was trying to get across.
