DJ's Latest Marketing News

Latest Update: June 27, 2008

To bypass oil company info and get the latest data

The major oil companies are probably the top marketers on earth; not necessarily the best, but they definitely know how to create and use shortages and increase profits. Here is something I found that locates and identifies the cost of gasoline. Maybe we can at least buy from the lowest price source available although all are not listed.

Savings Tips:

    • Keep your tires properly inflated

    • Change or clean your air filter as required

    • Run as many errands as possible at one time

    • Eliminate any extra weight by removing items not necessary from trunk or elsewhere.

    • Others say to fill your tank either early morning or late evening because of the cooler temperature you get more gas per gallon. I'm not sure this is accurate because most tanks have underground storage and may have near constant temperature of the gas.

Important SAFETY note:

Fires can occur from a static discharge igniting the gas vapor coming from your tank. Be Careful...

Ground yourself before removing your gas cap; if it's cold and you get back in your car after starting the gas pumping. Be sure to ground yourself before touching the pump nozzle because static electricity can build up on you from sliding in and out of the vehicle. They also say that women tend to do this more often than men.

Grounding requires you to touch a metal object that has a means of dissipating the static electricity. Some of the gas pumps have metal housing that is bolted to concrete. An air line plumbed in with metal pipe that runs under ground should be a good method of discharging the static electricity if paint isn't to thick. If when you touch the metal object you feel the discharge or hear a slight cracking sound that was you discharging.

Late note: I was working on my other website and didn't realize I had opened it up to the Internet, until I received a couple emails notifying me of people signing up for the membership. This was a little embarrassing since the download area wasn't finished yet; I had to send email explaining the error on my part and apologize. I assured them that I would make it up to them through getting some additional products. I hope I now have the site off the Internet, please just sign up for notification and I will send out an email when the site is up and working. When I'm testing the site is working properly; it does show up on the Internet and I guess I can't get around that.

I still miss my dog, she had a way of knowing when I needed a break and wouldn't let me sit at this thing for 10 or 12 hours. I now have to force my self to take a break after about 3 to 4 hours; I know I'm always behind in what I'm trying to accomplish so I hate to stop and take breaks. Sometimes, this works against me and I am too tired to realize it. I am still trying to get the paid membership site up and running; the learning curve on some of the new software I purchased is a liitle troubling. What was suppose to save me time and trouble right now is costing me both; maybe I'm just getting to old to grasp things as quickly.

I have had several people express their wishes to be notified when I finally get it up and running. I still plan to give this sites membership first option to join since it will be a limited membership site. I will probably allow 30 days for present members to join before opening it up to the public. I get offers to purchase something that sounds intereting but due to the short time frame I may, or maynot, have the money available at that moment. I would have purchased, if I had been given 30 days, since I would have received my incoming funds during that time.

I know everyone in Internet Marketing tells you to create more anxiety by placing a short time frame on buying. In some cases that probably works but not in mine; I have to have the money to pay for it, or I don't buy, and don't believe in charging unless absolutely necessary. Besides with the deal I'm making, I know I will reach my membership goals in a short time. Members will find that I will be selling products at a rate, that if they buy one product a month from someone else, would more than pay for several they get at my membership site. The products will be the same ones you will be seeing offered on the Internet and receiving email trying to get you to buy. I will also leave previous products listed in membership area as long as sales are being made.

Now, all I have to do is get it up and running, and loading all the products is a time consuming process. Especially since my FTP software has stopped making a connection with my service. We are all working at finding the reason; it seems to me it's somewhere in the handshake. My home ISP says they don't have any thing in place that would stop the connection; and the hosting service say, they think it is in a router somewhere. I can trace all the way through and ping and reach the service and they say they can do the same; which is what makes it so difficult to pin point. Guess we will get it figured out sooner or later.

Hope everyone had a good holiday that celebrates Memorial day. For those that doesn't and may not understand, it is a day for Americans to honor our fallen (past away) soldiers and others. I will remember this weekend even more because I lost my beloved dog, Dusty; she was like a member of the family. No matter what the situation she was always happy to see me; she was my constant companion. She always seemed to know exactly what I wanted and needed and minded well except when we had company. Then it depended upon whether she knew and trusted them.

She was a good baby sitter for my grandson and loved to play with him. Even when he was playing, crawling, pulling her whiskers, or just being honery it didn't bother her. She wouldn't let anyone hurt him and had trouble understanding when he and I were rough housing. She was also a tattle tale, because if he was doing something she didn't think he should be; she would come and let me know. Dusty even tried to talk and was always able to convey her thoughts and feelings with different barks and gestures. As you can tell, I still miss her, and I will be a while recovering. I wasn't really prepared for this since she wasn't really that old.

We have another dog and he stays by the door watching and each time I get home he is still waiting for me to bring her back. I tell him each time that she won't be coming back and I miss her too. I have very deep seated feelings and know that expressing them makes me vulnerable; and over the years have learned to suppress them. I think it is a weakness of our civilization and I am confident it's not good for us; but I also know the pain of showing what is considered a weakness.

I apologize about me using this as part of my healing process, even though I am not a good writer; it still makes me feel better. I don't always express my feelings well and writing seems to let things out that might otherwise eat on me from the inside out. It may not do much for others, but it does help me. Thanks, Darell

I just found a very informative ebook on Marketing it goes into many details that are often overlooked. I think it would be a good read for newbies since it explains many details related to creating and selling on the Internet. It is a little dry in a couple places but it explains many of the legal aspects related to marketing on the Internet. The ebook actually lays out the work involved in creating a business along with requirements that must be adhered to legally. I purchased MRR to the ebook which means I have to sell it but I control the price (The Best For Less).

Check it out here

I see a lot of freebie offers showing up in my email; I used to go and download products but not today. I buy all of mine from some good resources and just don't have the room on my hard drives. For those of you that still want to download the free products here is a thought; save time by using a free RoboForm and let it download your info.

Here is a link to the site  Have fun!!!

I found a free instant squeeze page generator that seems to work for capturing prospects if you are trying to build a list. Of course, you will be signing up through his squeeze page but you can always unsubscribe. Then you will be given a "one time offer" and a second offer but just go to the bottom of the page and click the "no thanks" link. Then you will be given an opportunity to become an affiliate; not all bad. Squeeze pages are one of the main ways used today for capturing prospects. Her is the link:

Squeeze Page Generator

I am trying some methods my friends have had success using; and besides it was time for me to begin applying some of the methods myself. I have created a Squidoo Lens and will do some testing to see how it works. It is suppose to find me a lot of new traffic and traffic turns into sales. If you would like to see my Lens Click Here I will probably start making some changes and posting new information on it. I will still maintain this site because of some limitations in Squidoo.

I'm still working to find a solution to problems making my paid membership site difficult to get started. I have not stopped getting new products and that just keeps me getting further behind. As of today, I created a squeeze page offering one of the key things that must happen in order to stay a viable business. It gives some very good information for newbies and also offers somewhat of a refresher course for others. It also helps to fast start your marketing efforts.

Time sure flies when your having fun... Tax time again

And trying to work out problems with my ecommerce portion of my website has been a night mare. Sometimes, I begin to wonder if it's worth all the effort, then when things get worked out I get back on a more even keel. Hope it happens soon, before I go over the edge.

I may have to change my thinking about how to deal with new paid membership site. I may have to do like others and just charge a higher monthly fee and limit the number of free products per month. I wanted to keep everything loaded and allow members to pick and choose products beneficial to them.

The only thing that bothers me if I have to change is you would be limited on selections each month. My providers offer various products not all related to a particular niche and it could create problems for me; since my membership has varied needs. This has sure slowed me down since I had it almost worked out and products loaded when the change happened. Now, I have gotten behind and my downloads keep coming on a daily basis. It's a good thing I hadn't opened up the membership before this change happened.

I'm still looking at some new software that might accomplish what I was trying to do; something that I can't afford right now is time to evaluate and learn a new application. I'm already 4 months later than I had anticipated on getting the paid membership site up and running. Now, if I have to upload everything again in a different format it will sure be aggravating. I'm looking at a product right now that is called MYDD to see if could work.

I also just contracted with another service that offers a backup service. I got tired of buying new external hard drives to store and back stuff up on. They have a software that runs in the background and updates regularly; if they ever get everything downloaded the first time. Since I download things daily, they will have a full time job checking and updating.

Tax time always puts me in a bad mood every year, it seems they find more ways to squeeze more money from me. I am having to write a check for over $5,000 for state and federal (returns?) beyond what was collected previously. I hope you aren't impacted the same way; of course some guru's tell me I shouldn't be complaining. It only means I'm making money; I must be missing some of the loop holes. Maybe I need to find out who their accountant is and change. Of course, I know there are some questionable practices out there, and I am sure I wouldn't want to deal with any tax lawyers.

Well, I've gotten on my soapbox again and added some more comments about the U.S. economy and action and reactions and some causes. Along with my thoughts on how things should happen in a government run by the people. It will be easy to see my position on lobbyist's. Click here

I just read a good article on making money. It said too many people are stuck on a four letter word "busy" and instead we should be concentrating on a six letter word "action". That's a lot of my problem, I keep plenty busy, but I'm not always taking the best action to maximize my profit. I would go one better plan and then take "focused action" will pay off much better. I take action but it's not always in a direction for maximizing my profit.

I believe that a successful business should exist to serve it's customers. This creates somewhat of a contradiction for me; I started this website to help marketers get started in business. Many new marketers have one thing in common, lack of money, without money things are more difficult if not impossible. It will always take some amount of money to start a new business; but using the guidelines presented here, it shouldn't take as much. The bottom line for starting a business could be around $100; but that won't make you any money, it will just get you started.

Then it will take a lot of work and persistance on your part to make it work, and it won't be overnight, probably 2 to 3 years minimum. Then you may start making a little money, but if you keep tweaking and improving you may become successful. Always looking for ways to improve upon what you do, and how you do it; will in many cases, for those that persist, be the key factor.

It's nice to be complemented once in a while and I have received several emails as well as some new members in the last couple weeks. Thanks for joining us. I have also been responding to some email with questions about marketing and even being asked to suggest a good webmaster and what it might cost to create a complete website. I will always try and help anyone that takes the time to ask if at all possible. I won't do the work for you; but will be glad to try and help.

It's amazing at all the ideas that just seem to jump into my head anymore for promoting and selling anything. I can remember when I couldn't think of anything to try. It's funny how jotting down ideas that jump into your head just keeps more popping out. Although, I may be better at suggesting than doing; the suggestions doesn't take much effort as the doing.

Even though I was flattered to be asked for my opinion, I am pretty busy just trying to keep my sites up and running. I'm still working on the paid membership portion of this site; it takes a lot of time to list all the products with graphics and explanations. I think as soon as I get a hundred new products in the store I will open the membership and just keep adding as I go along. Should amount to around 20 - 30 per month.

Coming soon, I hope...

I have been seeing some spam complaints using my current email address on this site. They are not from members but persons I personally haven't sent info. That is a pretty good indication that someone has found a way to access my email address at this site and use it to send spam. I have notified the hosting service but so far they can find nothing wrong. I have decided to change my email address for notifying me about problems. I haven't had time to check all links on the site but for now any communication with me will have to be sent to Contactme[at]ebooklisting.net I deleted my old email address and updated the universal listing but not all links.

Every time I think I'm making progress lately; something else jumps up and bites me. This hosting service offers e-commerce but I find that it is really limited. I started setting up my paid membership website and ran into an issue I wasn't expecting. I can list all my various products but they can only be downloaded individually (no shopping cart). I know this will be a pain so now I'm looking at other ways to get a shopping cart tied to this site. It seems like there is always something to slow me down when I feel I'm beginning to make headway.

Well, I keep hearing about all kinds of Valentine's Day specials, I just don't have time to check them out. I hope everyone else is having, or will have a GREAT valentine's day. I will still be working to overcome some of the problems I've encountered; since I had a great response asking to be notified when I get my new membership site up and running.

I have subscribed to several paid sites and now get the latest fresh new products and info on a daily basis. I am paying out over $300 a month for access to these sites; that doesn't include paying my hosting service. I have enough members here to offset my costs and that should allow me to offer a much lower cost to my members. It is this level of membership that allows for economy of scale.

This will allow me to offer my paid membership site new and fresh products on a timely basis (probably weekly) at a reasonable cost. To maintain the value of the products the number of members will be limited to the first 500 subscribers. The membership sites I belong to has around 100 members and 10% rule seems to apply there as well. Competition is less and quick turn around of the products is the key to success. Being one of the first to offer a product can be an advantage; by contrast some buyers look at the amount of exposure a product receives before buying.

Some of the 10% use affiliates to promote the products and that's where much of the name recognition for products you see comes in. Some affiliates make a good living earning a percentage of sales; but that number is small. Affiliate marketing is a choice some prefer others have their own websites offering products they purchase and sell for 100% return. Still others use both and have success; it is strictly an individual choice. I like to let others set up affiliate sites and then I can see what is being offered and adjust my price or offer bonuses to capture some sales. I sometimes catch the buyers that search by product name; not great but extra income.

This will use up most of the time I have for creating new pages on this site; if I try to update to frequently. I only promise weekly but that could change to daily in the future. I have to download products on a daily basis and that requires time; then I have to decide if the product is something I'm willing to offer (value) my members (initially I will probably put everything I receive on the website). Then I have to upload the files to my website and create a new page for the products. This all takes time and since this is a one person operation it keeps me very busy. Then if there are questions I have to respond on an individual basis using up more time...

I still believe in quality at a reasonable price and will try to maintain that in anything I do now, or in the future. I can't always refund (I get fooled too) but I will make every effort to find something satisfactory or better in exchange if there is a problem. I am still accessible by email and will work very hard to keep you satisfied; that's just good business.

I would still like to use the membership forum (DJs Data Exchange) created long ago for helping members out with problems they may encounter from anything related to marketing on the Internet. I belong to a couple forums that use them for just that purpose and I use them myself. Some of the moderators are well known experts and have very successful websites of their own. They use a member helping member approach and that even leads to some networking sometimes. It also helps resolve the time requirement for explaining ways around problems. Some members go into great detail as to how to make things work. This still appears to be a good and useful tool when used properly.

You might be interested in this since you are a member of this site.

This is always a busy time of year for me since it is the beginning of tax time and getting everything lined up is always a challenge. It seems like my first 3 months every year has to be devoted to taking care of business and personal taxes. For some reason the state didn't send out a new form this year and I just about forgot about my sales tax that is due by the 25th of January. Someday I may decide to let someone else do my books; but it is one way I stay on top of what is going on.

I hope everyone else is more organized than I am since I've retired. I don't play by the same rules since it's just me; and I seem to always be fighting some kind of fire. I guess that's the reason we always had to plan things and set goals when I was working. It seems that no matter what sized business you are in the rules are probably basically the same and work gets accomplished more efficiently when planned and organized.

I guess that will have to be one of my new years resolutions is getting back to better organization in my life as a retiree. I have decided to create paid membership site right here as well as a free one. Mainly because there are so many restrictions on products I purchase. I think it will be just as easy to separate them here as on a new website. It may save me some time for a while; since I am having to deal with a lot of new stuff at least to myself on my new website.

Well, here we are in a new year again, they seem to go by much faster now. Since many of you are of different cultures, I'm not sure how you celebrate various holidays. Here in the U.S. many celebrate Christmas, so for those of you that do; I hope you had a very merry Christmas. I know we all have moved into a new year and I hope that your's will be productive and profitable and finds you in good health.

I had hoped to have my membership site up and working but found it very slow entering all the products. Of course, that becomes even more difficult since I receive new products every day. I have begun downloading products to DVD's to save hard drive space. I also found that my work of loading products were increased at least 3 fold by offering different prices for different rights. I'm beginning to think it might be less work to split the cost difference and have a flat rate charge for individual products and give maximum rights available for the product listed. It will cost me some profit, but would require less work on my part. It should help reduce my time listing products and still be very cost effective for my members. Check out the new costs and partial listing of products with suggested retail value of over $22,000.

New and easier thoughts on testing

You might want to check this out: It's at least partially right; and it does give an indication of when I started this website. It doesn't seem to maintain all the webpages and it must have waited until they found me before listing. It's still a little fun to look back and see what things looked like several years ago.

I have started doing something I should have done several years ago; listing all the products I have available. I'm actually house cleaning and need to free up some disk space on my computer so it will begin working the way it is suppose to. I also need to determine all the products I think are worth putting in my new membership site. It looks as if I will be a while longer before everything is done.

I will probably start the process with just some of the products and just keep adding. I purchased a product that is suppose to let me list the products and has an auto emailer for delivery as well as unlimited number of auto responders to better determine and target my purchasers. I guess I'm beginning to conform to some of the established rules; except I will not send email for every product that comes up.

I don't do this very often, but a respected member to this site, has pointed it out to me and the price won't break anyone. Here is what I received along with a personal message. Urgency is required to maintain the present price.

I am beginning to wonder why I keep using this service; every year since I started the renewal phase has been a nightmare. It seems even worse this year; the right hand doesn't seem to have a clue what the left hand is doing. I called the support number and asked about an email I received offering me a substantial discount for the next year. I was told they didn't know anything about it and I would have to contact the billing department. I went to my control panel and input billing as my main concern; I explained about the email I received and wondered if I would have problems later since I had signed up for auto renewal. They assured me that if I used the link in the email that It would be taken care of for me and there wasn't any auto renewal.

I immediately clicked the link in the email and signed up for the offering for $197 for the next year. I tried to list my original domain names on the form provided; except I got an error saying they were already in use. Please choose another domain name; I didn't want to create new domain names as I had explained to billing department. A couple days later I received another email saying I had purchased the offering but I needed to complete the process by filling out the form provided. It still wouldn't let me keep my original domain names. Then I received an email stating the original domain names would be automatically billed for $597 on December 19, 2007.

I contacted support again and explained the situation and was informed they would refund my $197 and I would be billed on the annual renewal date. It wasn't clear whether they would be billing me the $197 or the $597 rate. I contacted support again and asked to be notified specifically for the amount I would be charged; this is what I received as an answer:

Hello Darell,

Your request has been forwarded to Billing
Department so I may assist you.

Your 2006 WebsiteWizard offer will renew on
December 19, 2007. Your card will be recharged
for $197 for two accounts.
Your last year order
will be upgraded into 2007 WW Offer. Your
accounts: DJs and FastTrack will remain active.

Your separate order for 2007 Special Offer is
refunded. The funds should be visible on your
credit card within next 10 days.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any
questions, I'll be happy to help.

I'm still not sure whether I'm being charged $197 for each site or for both of them. I use a business account and like to keep only what is necessary to cover expenses in it. Of course, if I don't cover the maximum amount, I will be charged another fee. Now I have $197 in limbo for 10 days and will have to cover another $394 or take the chance of being billed another charge by the bank for being overdrawn.

I use PayPal for most everything I do and it allows me to maintain some control over my accounts. PayPal has auto access to my account and would withdraw amount necessary to cover my expenses. This isn't available as a payment processor for this website; and I had problems some time ago using a credit card as a method for renewal. I found that I could only stop the subscription by having the other person stop billing and they didn't. I then had to cancel the credit card and get a new one to fix the problem. I have no desire to go through that again; another good reason not to give out your credit card number.

It was at this time I started using PayPal without any problems and all I had to do was go to their site and cancel the subscription. Then if someone billed it wouldn't be paid without my prior approval. I also gave them access to a larger checking account so that I could avoid banking charges. This is the only site that is using my credit card for billing and it is very confusing trying to determine my costs. OK, this makes me feel better by venting my frustration and maybe it will let you aware of a possible problem that can happen using credit cards. I should say, I only had one bad experience using a credit card for purchasing; but it can happen.

Paid membership site is close to completion and I will start with this website; for paid members and when we reach the 500 members it will be closed for good. I want to try and maintain a quality product at a reasonable cost. The fact that only about 10% of people purchasing the products actually use them should maintain the value of the products offered. I have always looked after this membership first and will remain to do so. I expect this to reach maximum membership before it is offered to the general public. I may not sell out in the first 24 hours but believe the cost associated will allow potential members a good deal.

At present, I plan to allow this membership package for 30 days and will then offer it to the general public. Don't delay too long because once 500 members have joined the offer will end. I won't be putting a counter here because this site doesn't allow script to be used. I have had a pretty good response wanting some sort of quality product at a reasonable cost and believe we have met that need. I am accepting email responding to the paid membership site and hope to answer all questions in a reasonable period of time.

I get new products about every 2 days and will try to list them in a manner that will allow you to maximize your sales and stay ahead of the market.

I touched on this but didn't carry it through to this level

"I won't make that mistake again".

Simple but powerful IDEA!

Great example of thinking outside the box
and making money as well.

"A Wake Up Notice"

A friend of mine sent me a link to an article that was selling for $1.99 and said, "You should read it". I invested the $1.99 and received the article, it had some new and exciting suggestions and pretty well step by step procedures for creating traffic and making sales for a couple hours time and $40 for advertising.

This is what I'm always on the lookout for quality and economy. This is definitely a value added product and very eye opening for even the experienced marketer; yet simple enough for the beginner.

I immediately signed up as an affiliate and here is my link to the article there will be only 2000 sold at the $1.99 price then the price goes up.

Don't pass this up:
(You Don't see me do this very often)

Yes, I'll make some money on this; but you can also.

If you can't afford $1.99, you can't afford to be in marketing anyway.

Just added a link to a fun word graphics site. You can save what you create and should be able to use it on your website. Look under Creating Website on this page

I always forget how fast time moves especially at this time of year. We've had our 3 1/2 year old grandson for a few days now and my energy is running low. We always enjoy having him and he seems to like coming down as well. I just wish I had a tenth of his energy; I'd get a lot more done. He sure likes pushing buttons and can find new ways of locking my computer up; and since I don't always know what keys were pressed it can be difficult getting it back up.

I was working on a video the other day and he wanted to see what was going on; so I let him sit in my lap while I was working. Big mistake, I was about 40 minutes into the video and all of a sudden the program stopped working. I didn't see him do anything so I thought it was just the computer until he asked where the picture went. Then he wanted to know if it was because he pressed this key (delete key). Sure enough it would break me out of the program and give me the message the application had stopped working.

I have decided to wait and produce the video after he goes back home. A sight that I frequent has decided to have a "Christmas Giveaway" and I have been asked to participate. I will have to work a little faster to meet the deadline; but hopefully I will make it. Part of my problem is I'm trying to get my new membership site up and running and I will have to create a couple pages and add a new auto responder to work with this give away. I am also working with a couple mastermind groups that has some pretty large plans in the near future.

I really want to get my site up and running; but at the same time I don't think I should pass up the opportunity to work with some pretty successful marketers. I believe this will be more beneficial to me as far as making money on the Internet. It looks like there will be 5 or 6 of us brainstorming and looking at new and better ideas to create successful businesses. I probably won't be able to discuss these ideas in an open forum but I should be able to learn some new and successful methods. I told them that I was going to use the group as a learning experience for me although I have had much business experience from my working days.

Watch for our new paid membership website; things are beginning to come together. I have been spending more time working on it lately. My problem today, is uploading all the products, I new I had a lot, just not how many.

Members here will be given first chance to join. I am setting a limit to membership of 500 people. The monthly fee will be $3; although you must purchase the products offered. Most of the time the products price will be determined by the type rights you wish to purchase.

Prices can vary because some of the original owners specified restrictions. I will put those in a different location than the normal download area. They will be very good products so there won't be a large number available that costs more.

The first month there will be at least 100 of good marketing related products listed. Each month there will be new products added. This method was chosen for a couple reasons:

    1. Stops fraudulent purchasers from downloading everything immediately and then canceling. This was decided after discussions with some of my friends and this was one reason their monthly fees were so high. Today, most list less products and limit the time period for downloading.

    2. The recurring monthly fee is kept low and items will remain available for a long time period; so downloading can be done anytime your monthly fee is current. This will make it possible to purchase good products without breaking your budget. You will be able to cancel at anytime.

Does anyone else have problems getting things to work? I'm still trying to get the sign up are here to work. I'm also fighting another website; can't seem to get all the bugs worked out I hate just spinning my wheels and not getting anywhere. I've been thinking for sometime now I would be offering you an inexpensive membership site that would have some very good and up to date products. I think it's the interactive part that has me stumped but I'm also fighting some HTML code. For some reason I can put some images in just fine and yet others won't show up. This is really frustrating since I have tried to resolve the problem for sometime now.

If it keeps up I will probably just create the paid membership site as part of this website. Then I will be able to get things going and other than paying for hosting that I can't get to work I may have more time to work on it. I have changed my mind a couple times on how it will work; but think I am the right track now. Click Here

I have joined a mastermind group and hopefully some of them can help me out. Another paid site although the guru's seem willing to help or at least discount their services. I joined the end of September, I did have to buy a conference software that allows normal instant messaging, audio/video communication. It seems to work pretty well, if you know how to contact the people to start with.

Hope to create some links to some info real soon.

Several of you did check out and sign up through my affiliate link for the video's. I would like to thank you for joining and believe you will be satisfied with the quality of information presented and the value of the video's. Dave uses a step by step format that can be duplicated pretty easy. I have been really impressed with video's and new stuff is being added faster than I can keep up with. Let me know what you think and don't forget you can request video's that may suit your specific needs. Thanks Again...
This is actually the first time I've checked out the website in a couple weeks. As usual I'm behind, and think there is still some problems with subscribing, since some didn't confirm. I've got to get this problem figured out and resolved. Please be patient with me.

I haven't gotten much done lately, my dad called and wanted to know if I had time to take him to a dental clinic a couple hours away, I told him I could. Not knowing I would be making the trip several times; some of it was my fault though. The clinic has you come in for an evaluation and goes over costs; then sets up appointments based upon needs. He had 2 sets of dentures made up and installed and adjusted for under $500. (my dentist wanted almost $6000 for one denture)

This got me wondering about my teeth since my regular dentist said I needed a couple root canals and the cost would be over $1000. I already had 2 root canals, so I made an appointment for myself at the clinic. The initial examination was only $40 and my insurance would pay for it and it seemed their price and satisfaction rate were good. After the examination, I decided to have an upper denture done my out of pocket expense was $439. They told me to see another clinic and have my lower teeth cleaned since they seemed in good shape.

Of course, I had to make the initial evaluation trip and then schedule a time for the work to be done. They did have to pull 11 teeth but installed the upper denture the same day. The next couple days were a little rough but I think it's getting better now. I had to make a second trip the next day for evaluation by dentist and also have to go back in a couple weeks for adjustment and temporary liners. I didn't know it could take up to a year for gums to completely heal. I will be making about 4 trips in the next year for adjustment at no cost.

The place is like a production line and stays busy all the time. The worst part for me was the waiting from the time of them taking the impressions until my teeth were pulled and dentures installed that same afternoon. They told me they wouldn't touch my bottom teeth because they looked good and only needed cleaning and they didn't do that type work at their clinic.

It's been a week now, and I'm doing a lot better now and most of the pain is gone and I'm learning how to eat and talk with the extra stuff in my mouth. If it wasn't for the denture covering the roof of my mouth it would be a lot easier. I can't put as big a bite in my mouth now; and I have to use my tongue more to position food.

This has probably been too much information, especially off subject; but it has been an experience for me. My dad keeps telling me "it's hell to get old". I keep telling him "with technology where it is today, it is worth checking out anything that preserves quality of life" and sometimes the cost isn't that high either.

Since tomorrow (Sep 9) is my birthday, I decided to get on a soap box, but decided not to add it to this page since I got long winded. It basically expresses my opinion about our system of government here in the USA and I know we have many members from around the world that may or may not care. If your interested I sometimes get carried away by some situation that upsets me; I have found that I feel better after expressing myself and do it often. Sometimes later, I'm glad I gave myself a night to calm down and I didn't do it here.

What's the ONE THING YOU MUST DO
To Improve YOUR Marketing Efforts?

I have a lot of products that have some form of restriction on them, many allow giving the product away on a paid membership website. It seems the only legal way to distribute these products is to create a paid membership site so I will start one here. I think I can set up a couple pages that will be exclusively for paid members; the rest will remain exactly the same as now. See this page for the reasons for my conclusion it reflects the rules of several products I own today.

I am so convinced that video is going to have such a large impact on the Internet I have devoted a page to it. I also list one of my favorite websites for learning most aspects of Internet and offline marketing. Check it out it might interest you.

I am going to leave this at the top of this page for a while until the problem gets resolved. Look below the next horizontal line for the latest info.

I've noticed that several new subscribers haven't confirmed their membership and when I tested the process my self; I didn't receive the email for some time. This makes the process confusing; then I didn't get the info for getting to the forum or the free items. Has anyone else had this problem? I tested the process when I first placed it in action and it worked. Now, I wonder what's going on? If you had problems please let me know and I will get it straightened out. First, by sending you the info to forum and free products. Let me know of problems This will pop up an email blank from your application just explain the problem and I will get back to you.

It seems like I will never get this subscription problem resolved; I fix one part and something else goes wrong. Maybe one of these days I'll get it all straightened out and not have to send extra email for you to receive your products. I apologize for the inconvenience and am working on a resolution that works but I'm not there yet.

I have begun checking for some decent free, or Master Resale Rights products; that I will be putting somewhere on the website. I can't promise exactly when but probably at least once a month. I recently found a pretty good resource but it costs me a monthly fee that I will need to recoup somewhere. I listed the resource on the "This Works" page of this site, I am an affiliate and that may help me recoup some of the cost. I doubt too many other webmasters will give up a good resource that may limit their sales. If you have a profitable website today; this might be a worthwhile investment.

The heats on here in Kansas, it might not be so bad except for the humidity. Did any of you go to or watch the PGA Championship in Tulsa, Oklahoma. You have to really like golf to go out in over 100 degree weather for hours and hours. Most of those interviewed said they came to see favorite sons or Tiger Woods; once in a lifetime opportunity.

I'm afraid I stayed in the air conditioning and just checked it out every now and then in between working on the computer. I did take time to read a few "terms and conditions" related to Internet marketing. I went to a site I had signed up with that sent me an email with an offer; it looked like a good product and was priced to sell. When I clicked on the button to purchase I noticed I had to agree to "terms" before I could purchase. This was a little unusual and caught my attention; it's a good thing I was awake instead of working all night and half asleep. See Below.

 Would You Agree To This?
(partial Terms for purchasing a product)

YOU MUST ACCEPT THESE TERMS OR THE SELLER WILL NOT TRANSACT BUSINESS WITH YOU OR SELL A PRODUCT, SERVICE OR MEMBERSHIP TO YOU, AND YOUR ORDER WILL NOT BE PROCESSED IF YOU DO NOT ACCEPT THESE TERMS. Sorry buddy, you won't make any sales to me anytime soon!!!

"The views expressed here are my personal opinion"

Do you read Terms and Conditions or just click through them?

Terms and Conditions can be considered to be legally binding and should be read carefully before agreeing. More and more web sites are including documentation to use you, for their gain and to sell your information. Some are even making you agree to give them royalty free use of your information or product for using their websites and products. The old Axum "Buyer Beware" is probably more true today than ever in the past.

Extreme care should be taken to actually read terms and conditions before agreeing; I know they are boring and pages long... We have been conditioned to click on the box that "we agree to terms" and go on. This may end up costing us dearly if someone is greedy and takes us to court over the terms and conditions.

With all the lawyers in the world today, it is only a matter of time before someone tests the legality of the terms and conditions. Most, have been written by a lawyer somewhere and somewhat insure the legality of them. Lawyers give opinions; courts render judgment.

This is too good to hide in the webpages free instruction by a guru on writing email sales letters. I purchased this set of video instructions (around $50) some time ago and felt they were worth my time to watch. Now, thanks to another reader they are being offered free of charge by Michael Rasmussen. You will have to sign in and click through a couple offers before you get to the videos; but they will be worth it. Go to the bottom of each page; the first will take you to a sign up page after completing it you will be taken to a OTO page go to the bottom and click "No Thanks" button. It then makes another offer, go to the bottom of the page and click "No Thanks" or Goto free video's. Here's the link.

I will also add another freebie as soon as I find a good one that I have rights to give away. It will be like the last one; hidden within a page on the website.

I hope you've had a couple good weeks and have kept more cool than what it has been here in Kansas. Guess I shouldn't complain, they say it one of the coolest summers on record. I don't think they take humidity into consideration in these figures. Maybe I'm just getting old but I have been getting wringing wet in just a few minutes outside. They have been asking for volunteers to help with various cleanup efforts from the flood and I use to be good at volunteering and helping. Now, it seems I can't stand the heat and have to let others work outside and that eliminates a lot of the need of the community.

Since I have to stay inside most of the time, I have been working at identifying all of my various products. I have decided to have a little fun and create a little havoc in your life; I have to hunt for all the products on around 400 GB of hard drives. I am going to start putting some free products somewhere on this website; but you will have to find them. There is a lot less pages here than what I have to search through to find all the products. It might also help my SEO if I get more visits to more pages on this website.

The first product I will be putting up for grabs will be a SecretlySpyOnCompetition set of video's that you can use and resell if you wish. It has a number of videos that let you determine information related to websites. I thought about only giving you one video at a time like most; but this will make it more worth your time and effort. This is an executable file I know it works on PC's I can't say for sure about MAC's. If you can't find it you can check out the forum and I will give a link there. I wonder how many of you have forgotten the password to get into the forum? You may have to use my auto responder to get the password. That ought to be a sneaky way to get you to sign onto the auto responder and generate a new and active list for me.

It looks like it is going to be some before things get back to normal here in Kansas. I do have to comment on all the help that has arrived from all over the US. We don't know until something happens like this just how much everyone pulls together and believe me it is appreciated. My wife has worked some long hours with several different organizations the last few weeks; she takes the heat much better than I do. I have basically limited my help to that of close friends and relatives a few hours a day. Not that I wouldn't like to do more but the heat and humidity is just too much for me. It surprises me that more tempers haven't flared under these circumstances; but most have taken this better than anyone could have expected.

The real hard work is just now beginning, the process of cleaning up and rebuilding. Working together we should be able to get back on a more even keel; although it will take a great deal of time and effort before everything gets back to normal. If you want to see what it looked like here is a link to some pictures. Many of the pictures remaining were of conditions after the water had receded. Access was only allowed to first responders for about a week. I think it is pretty evident how hard a portion of our city was impacted by the flood. There were around 70 businesses directly affected and numerous others by indirect affects here in Coffeyville. We were left with only one operable motel and that meant outside volunteers had to fend for themselves. Several of our churches set up shelters and still have some displaced persons but nothing like the first of this month.

We have had quite a lot of excitement here in Southeast Kansas, almost every town and city has seen record flooding. Here in Coffeyville, water went over our levee by about 4 feet and turned the East side of town into a large pond. Water was up to rooftops on many businesses and homes. Most of our motels are located in that area and all sustained major damage. We are down to one motel accessible and many think it will cause us to cancel many activities in the next year. Our refinery got hit hard also and will probably be closed until the end of the year. One of the tanks was damaged and released 71,000 gallons of crude oil that covered everything it touched with an oil sludge.

The pumps at the water treatment plant failed and the city had to issue a boil order for any water used for drinking or cooking. This caused the shut down of all restaurants in town along with some other large water users. We have been lucky to have bottled water and ice being delivered for drinking and cooking purposes. Yesterday, it was announced that the State was taking over all the testing and determinations; since several of the first responders were getting sick and had rashes. It was then decided that no one other than State personnel would be allowed into the flooded area until it could be determined what was causing the sickness and rashes. The city has been asking for volunteers for various jobs that appear to be ongoing, we have several hundred people dislodged and are in temporary shelters.

I heard today, from unofficial sources that our Fair and Rodeo was being cancelled. We were lucky that we didn't lose power since some of the substations had gone under water. The power plant manager said that they had some concern and were acting to reinforce some transmission lines coming into the City. The length of time current and water had been on the poles had led to some of them leaning.

It appears it is going to be some time before our water will be back to normal and the cleanup, or whatever, will be opened up to citizens. I have been very lucky with just some inconvenience where others I fear may have to start over. Many have stated they didn't have flood insurance it had been around 60 some years since a flood of this magnitude had happened. The flood has demanded much time and effort from many and age has slowed me from many things I could previously accomplish.

I feel some disappointment in not being able to do more but that is life. In the early 60's I spent much time and energy sandbagging and evacuating people for fear of the levee at that time. That time the water just got to the top of the levee and we managed to divert the flooding with a lot of work. There were many volunteers this time but nature won the battle as the creat of the river was 4 feet above the levee.

I may take longer getting back up and running this time than ever before; Vista makes me have to hunt for things I knew automatically before. Then when something doesn't work I have to go through support sites and many of them must have a list of things to try. Each time I contact someone different, they want to go back to the beginning and start over with their list. Used to some people in support were actually knowledgeable and could get directly to the problem. I still have to unplug my high speed internet cable just about everytime I reboot and then plug it back in to make a connection to the Internet.

Then there is the problem of transferring files and folders and trying to get everything to work. As you know, I have purchased thousands of products and actually use many of them; some are not compatible with Vista. My next problem is that many of the suppliers don't mention Vista on their sales pages, making me have to contact their support and ask. Many of these support functions is nothing but email and response times aren't to keen especially if your just asking a question. I have already contacted my main suppliers and requested they list Vista compatibility or they will be put on the short list. Right next to the junk mail.

I have always used firewall and virus protection from one source; guess what they aren't Vista capable. Another learning curve to deal with, my computer came with a 30 day virus and firewall protection. The cost to update tells me they know that there major competitor is behind; they used to give 90 days protection. I decide to check with another supplier that I used to use free without problems, and I can get a 2 year subscription for less than one year with Dell's preference. There may be a joint venture going on here; but I'm not getting anything out of it, so I will go with "AVG".

Well, it's time to get back to the old grind and trying to get everything going. Hope you are having better days than me. Someday, I will get back to my new site and maybe get it up and running. Most of my purchases have been related to it recently; I have to keep leaning just like everybody else.

One last small note, I noticed that according to my stats, several people have visited  my page related to public domain. Maybe it will make a comeback from a couple years ago. Have a GREAT Day, Darell

I hate changing operating systems; every time it takes me 3 weeks to get everything up and working again. Vista may be even worse, there are a lot of things not compatible with it; I even had one piece of software that the manufacturer said was pirated. I buy all my products so I must have purchased from an illigitimate source. The manufacturer did offer a small discount if I wanted to upgrade. Vista does forward info to the original manufacture's and they should know if it is pirated. I can't believe how long it takes to transfer data files when you have over a million. I also found that Vista updates automatically; it restarted in the middle of one of my uploads. I got up this morning and thought OK, it's all done. Then I had a message pop up saying it had automaticlly updated and restarted the computer; too bad they aren't smart enough to restart something after it finished running. Seems to me that if something is running they should wait for it to finish.

I've had a lot of visitors lately, but my data must need updating since only a couple joined. So, if you see some changes in the near future, it will be me updating the pages most often visited. I may never get my other paid membership site up and running at the rate things have been going lately.

When things go wrong... my monitor went out and you know what these things are almost worthless without being able to see what you're doing. I debated on buying a new monitor or just replacing the entire system and the new system won. I purchased a Dell with a new operating system "Vista" now I have to learn where everything is at. I really messed up instantly trying to hurry, it asked about language and gave a list.

I picked Armenian West, thought I was picking American; my language was listed as US English. When I assigned my computer name, I thought wow, they are even encrypting the name of the computer but not with asterisks. When I started to enter the password it went back to the usual asterisks; it's a good thing I decide to stop and look. Then I couldn't delete the first language and it was set to be the default; I had to stop and click on the language icon and change it to US. Otherwise, I couldn't read what I was writing and every now and then I forget to change to US once in a while and start typing when I look up I have no idea what it says.

The next problem is that some of my applications won't run on Vista and I still haven't found a good way of checking without just loading them. I did luck out about one thing, the new monitor would work with my old system. Now I am trying to work on downloading all my pertinent information. I found my old email application doesn't work well with the new operating system. The manufacturer is developing drivers and is suppose to email them to me in the near future. I have been amazed at how many times I go to the Internet looking for various items. When the monitor went out I was completely helpless and I walked back here at least 100 times to get some information or do some simple task.

I realized I have another problem, I download almost everything digitally or electronically; so I don't have disc's to load the new system with. I'm not sure how that is going to work yet; the new system checks for liscensed products and shuts them off if they aren't valid. Guess I'll find out.

While doing housekeeping on my computer I found an ebook that was available as a bonus with another purchase. Guess I need to actually look at what I get instead of just the product; I did gain about 10GB by taking time to review some purchases. I also found that I had several duplicate products. I sure need to find an easy way to list all my products in a database, but most of the time the sellers use an abbreviated name and I wouldn't know anyway. This is actually becoming a major problem for me since I buy so many products a month. I have hundreds of files and some of them have thousands of subfiles and to clean my hard drive I have to actually look at each one. Then, if I don't remember what was in the other files I may still have duplicates. If anyone knows a good way of making a listing of files within folders and sub folders I would sure like to know about it.

Sorry for getting off subject, I added the link to the page Here.

I found a great website recently and have been checking out what is offered. I believe it is the best training website I have ever seen. The guy started out working on stuff for eBay and has gradually expanded his business to include almost all aspects of marketing. The best part is it's audio/video and he explains things in step by step as well as screen by screen methods. He covers searching for products, design and development all the way through completing the final website for selling and downloading products. It is a paid membership site, but it would be worth every penny for any newbie and intermediate marketer. There are thousands of hours of video offered. He is good about creating new videos if there is a piece of information or other service that would be of benefit.

Learn to make money by watching these videos ...

I have used many of his ebay products in the past and found they work. I am confident that he has created a membership site that if promoted properly will become one of the fastest and best for training purposes on the Internet. This appears to be a winner to me, especially for anyone just getting started in marketing. He makes some videos take longer because he gets off on why and how he has used the technique being explained. He also lists URL's of people or things used on video's, at least the ones I've had a chance to preview. I've looked at his list and length of his videos and believe me it will take a great deal of time to review them all. This may make reading all those newsletters I receive worthwhile.

If your interested in taking a look before prices go up Click Here. I have already joined and after checking out several video's decided it filled a need on the Internet and became an affiliate of Dave's...Darell

I forgot to mention that he does have a gaurantee and you can cancel at anytime. It is set up through PayPal and you can control if and when you want to quit. He keeps adding new material each month based upon the requests of the membership, their is a form on the site for suggestions and requests.

Added something I found that is suppose to help find keyword variables. I keep getting questions about keywords so when I see something I will try and add it to a page. It may or may not be useful, the guy is trying to sell an ebook and this is a method to get a one way link to his site for him. If a lot of people visit his site, the link to him will improve my SEO. You might want to use a similar method; the right product can get you additional exposure. The coding offered only locked up my browser. You always want to check when you add anything to your page and make sure it works; maybe even before changing the webpage. I hate it when I take time to do someone a favor and have it waste my time. Sorry, I will look for some additional keyword suggestion tools that work...Darell

Now, I'm doing something I shouldn't do, giving you a link to another site and moving you away from mine. That's suppose to be a big no,no. This did give some useful info and you might find it usefull.

Ok, I got away from the soap box; I was pretty upset the other day. I have been looking at stuff all over the Internet and found something that might be interesting and decided to add it to this page.

I understand that many of our members live outside the U.S.A. but I am upset enough from what I heard on the TV last night that I decided to speak my peace. They had a couple psychologists talking about when people would decide the price of gas had reached the level to stop p it. They said that there was no limit to what people would pay because today everyone just expects the price to go up. I hope this is not the case; but people here no longer are leaders, they are followers and whatever they hear on TV must be the truth. Our thinkers, must all be employed by large oil companies and hopefully are getting paid 46% more than they were before all this started. Otherwise they are losing ground the same way as the rest of us.

I would like to welcome all those that have signed up in the last couple weeks and I hope to get some additional material uploaded here in the near future. I will explain what is going on in the following paragraphs. A friend of mine put up some information about "MySpace" and asked what others thought about the social networking situation. I have several items related to social networking and guess as I find them I will try and make them available to our members. It does open some doors to traffic as they already have around 100,000,000 people signed up. We don't want to miss the opportunity this offers.

I may not survive this year, if things keep working the way they are right now. I have been spending hours and hours trying to get my new website up and running. I'd created several web pages and when I installed them on my new host they didn't tie together the way I thought they would; and now I've got to find out what has gone wrong.

There have been quite a few pretty good products made available at reasonable costs lately. It only happens when I'm covered up trying to learn something new. I will try and get some of them uploaded here as soon as I can catch my breath and get some sleep. I have so many products to categorize I wonder if I will ever get done. Now my mai hard drive says I have less than 6% space left and it's 250 GB. It means I will have to begin downloading to another drive or I won't be able to get anything done.

How many of you realize that we are almost half way through the year? It doesn't seem like it to me; but I have been staying really busy. I still haven't gotten the new website up and running yet. Although I am getting a little closer. I spent most of today cleaning out my email files and shutting down several subscriptions. I am going to limit myself to a lot fewer newsletters; basically the ones that I have paid subscriptions and receive products from.

If I try to read every email I receive there is no way I can get anything accomplished. One of my friends and associates asked me what I did first each day and how long I spent doing it. What do you suppose it was? Of course, email and with around 500 new emails a day it was taking almost all of my time. I was only receiving a few from subscribers and they were lost in all the rest. I just deleted and unsubscribed to over 300 newsletters; that should make a dent pretty quick. Most were affiliates of people that I  purchase from, I usually get early notification about new products. When I'm a paid member I either get products free or at an extremely low cost.

I hope the next time i add something here I can tell you to go visit the new and improved website. I should have asked if any of you were familiar with PHP, CGI-BIN, SQL, and how to tie them altogether? I'm gaining but it is awfully slow. I have purchased a couple products that kind of explains it but they jump around a little too much for me. Well here it is 1:30 AM and I'm tired so I'm quitting for the night.

I hope to have the first few pages up on my new website by the end of next week. It will explain most of the details for the change and the way decisions were made. I am listening to some of my smarter friends and even though I still hastle them over somethings; I know they are right. They, think I have basically wasted 3+ years on the Internet, they have been making money and I sometimes break even. We've had some real heavy discussions about the Internet and marketing in general. I have always held that if you help people they will be loyal. They, let me have it with 15,000+ members and only 300+ active isn't good enough. I can't argue with them because I only have around 2% active and they are above 4% and are continually tweaking to gain more.

The funny thing is many have used my writings and ideas to reach their level of success. They are always pushing me to follow my own knowledge and start making some money. They may have succeeded this time; as I am actually changing a little while protecting the members I have. The people doing the pushing are also members and they never let me forget it. As always, I dance to the beat of my own drummer and will eventually get the other website up and going. My hosting service here is slowly but surely pricing this service out of my reach. I don't feel any pressure at present, but as the year draws to an end, I will have to make a decision about this site.

That means I must have the other site up and working and debugged in the next few months. It also means that I will have to begin doing things I have neglected in the past. Mainly, I will send out a bi-monthly newsletter, this is suppose to help me increase my members participation. If I offer good information and have or find value added products; that accomplish what they are suppose to accomplish then everything should take care of itself. I'm still holding out for quality and value but in between times I will also be keeping in touch. Another small change, and this will begin here first, I will maintain a loyalty to those that have participated in my affiliate sales efforts ('A' list discounts). Those that just couldn't bring themselves to use affiliate links I provided will still be treated fairly and still receive a bargain on products at a slightly higer price. This seems only fair to me, and I feel I need to reward loyalty with loyalty.

Thank you Kim, you are the first person to use the forum in a long time. I still think it is a very good way to communicate and it will only be seen by members signing into the forum. It's not like publishing to the world, on public forums. The funny thing was when I tried to answer it wouldn't accept my reply; today it seems to be working fine except I copied the email I sent you and when I pasted it in the forum the word wrap didn't come out right. I hope my email wasn't in the same format.

The new website is proving harder to tie together than I had anticipated. Of course, I'm trying to learn Dreamweaver and Fantastico with all it's options at the same time. I think I'm getting to be a slow learner, maybe it's my age creeping up on me. Since I retired I don't fight things quite as hard as I used too; I also don't set deadlines nearly as tight. That is my big problem now, When I get tired or aggravated I just go do something else for a while. That isn't a good plan that should be followed for someone trying to get started.

It's alright to take breaks and get your mind away from what your working on but don't make a habit of walking away for a week. A few hours at a time should usually refresh you, I always found a good walk to be useful when I was working and had deadlines to meet.

I am seriously considering removing the @ from my email it seems that the rogue spiders search through webpages and document any thing that has an @ in it. I have started receiving spam at the website now. Just learned something new and I'm not sure exactly what it does, I used the @ symbol and single quotes around it and it turned into some kind of link on this website. I will have to check on this with support. Back to what I was talking about, I notice several other webmasters have begun using [at] in their email addresses. Mine would change to  and look like this:    contact[at]ebooklisting.net. Of course, the programmers will write a routine that collects [at] as well as @ in a short time I suspect.

Have a GREAT Day, Darell

I have been busy creating new web pages for my new website and answering email. I just received a notice telling me I had received a message in the forum. I tried to answer in the forum and kept getting an error; I did notice that my webhost has made some changes (security) to the forum. I wrote a rather lengthy answer and had it disappear because of the error. That always makes you feel good, when you spend time doing something only to have it disappear through no fault of your own.

I have updated a few pages with some later thoughts but it didn't actually change what had been stated before. I noticed something else in checking my statistics. I am getting more visits from search engines than from prospects; kind of an unusual situation. One of my tracking tools I subscribe to uses the number of visitors to determine my costs. Now, I'll have to start watching something else and see if they use total visitors or eliminate search engine robots from their figures. I don't think so.

So far this month, I've had 4206 visitors that's 183 hits a day average the only problem I see is roughly 3500 are search engine robots. That means 83% of my traffic is search engines. No wonder my subscriptions have fallen off. Looks like I need to study this some more.

If I ever gat the new website up and running, we've decided to make some changes, my associates are telling me that "FREE" is a bad concept. I am pretty stubborn but what I'm being told is probably true. I have been arguing about leverage and numbers being important; but when we examined the actual numbers, I appear to be wrong. We are going to evaluate and categorize the products I can control and they will be divided into 3 categories (Workers, Managers, and Directors).

The Workers will be our newbies, the Managers will be more advanced and probably on the road to success, the Directors have already reached their initial goals and are looking for better and more automated products. Some of my rights to products doesn't allow me to give them away and others doesn't allow giving in a membership site. Our twist will be offering products at minimal costs to our members and the monthly membership fee will be used to cover costs associated with negotiating and purchasing new products for evaluation.

Have you ever read "Consumer Reports" they try to remain unbiased by buying and testing products themselves. This new website will do basically the same thing except we plan to use fees to negotiate better terms. It should allow us to lower the cost of products substantially. I have been testing using my own money and found it easier to get some good deals. This website is a business and as such needs to turn a profit. This will be accomplished by evaluating costs associated with each product and applying a small percentage to determine the actual price. Now the bad news, or maybe good news, the membership costs will be very low.

Workers since they don't have much money available will be charged $2 a month. Managers since they should be making some money will be charged $5 a month. The Directors are making good money and are probably wanting to keep up with the latest and greatest products will pay $10 per month. The products will be placed in each category and prices posted for each product. We will use a shopping cart to take care of sales. We believe the prices will vary from near nothing for workers to around $100 for the Directors products. There actual prices for the products would run from around $10 to $1000 if purchased somewhere else.

We hope to keep the majority of our free members from this website and worked hard to iron out a means to satisfy everyone concerned. It will alow us to make a small profit instead of not knowing what to expect. Today, out of 15,000+ subscribers it appears that only around 300 are actual buyers. We discussed and re-discussed ways to keep today's members. It was decided that even the members with little money need to make a committment to their business; and freebies would never get them to their desired position. They will still realize time savings and not be ripped off by "fly by nighters" because we have used the products and know they will work if applied correctly.

There will be more posted in the near future as we find and work out all the details.

I finally got the taxes done and money paid; I always hear how people get money back and they send their forms in early. I must be doing something wrong when it comes to taxes, even though I pay in more up front each year, I still have to pay in between $4,000 and $6,000 every year. Of course, I've never been audited (knock on wood) but I'd sure like to know what the others are doing. Some tell me I'm lucky because I'm making more money than they are but I sometimes have to wonder.

I have been working on my new website and as usual I'm behind. We have just about decided that it will be a very low cost membership site. We will be selling products to expand marketing knowledge, or software and scripts to improve quality of life for marketers. The prices will be unbeleivably low for members, I have found several exceptional developers that create very good quality products at reasonable price. It should allow me to sell at very reasonable prices; partially because of you the members. I have convinced a few developers to sell me rights at lower costs than the products will be offered on other websites. This has been a long and drawn out process but you and other subscribers have given me the leverage to bargain.

Now, if we can get all the stuff tied together, you should reap much of the benefits of this bargaining. Some of the items we "have to sell", even on a paid membership site, but the price will be lower than most others will be able to sell the products. Everyone is jumping on the dime sales and $7 products right now and that has helped drive costs down. We hope to offer a larger selection instead of one or two items a week and without timers running making prices go up. We feel we can compete and even beat the prices offered by those websites, using the economics of volume. We believe that low costs will allow more people to purchase and maintain a small profit margin.

We're going to take a little different position on these products; and may not have used every one of them. We just can't keep up with learning curve and evaluation of every product that comes out and stay up on the latest and greatest. We may ask for beta testers from the membership and compensate the testers either with free products or other goods. The testers will be asked to write a review of the products quality and useability based upon the sales data. This should speed up the process of finding better products at reasonable cost.

Right now, we're thinking of using several testers for each product; thinking a cross section of opinion would give the best overall opinions. We plan to offer the beta testing opportunities to our present members first; and then to new members. It may also be tied to members making more recent purchases through our site (being discussed). This will require us to send out an email asking for beta testers; we will start with small groups based upon the date you joined our membership. You may or may not want to become a tester; it will be your decision. If you turn us down and later change your mind; you can drop us an email and you will be allowed to join the testers.

The test products will be given to the testers but with the stipulation they are for personal use only. If, you determine you would like resale or master rights for selling the product, it would require paying a small fee determined by the type of rights. We are still discussing some of the details and will make a final determination within the next month. Our goal is to offer quality products at very low prices in order to use the economics of volume and yet make a small profit for our effort. Everyone in business is there for one reason; to make a profit we are no different. Thanks, Darell

Now is when I pay for the fun I've had, it's tax time here in the US. I always have to pay in several thousand dollars extra. So, I procrastinate until about a week before the deadline and this time my accounting application or my bank got me. I started downloading information from credit cards and banks and the data is messed up. Some of the data is in twice and some isn't listed at all. I have been working about 20 hours a day trying to get everything straightened out.

Needless to say I haven't got my new site up and running yet and I haven't added anything new here for about a month now. I hope everyone else has done a better job than I have so far this year. I've had more time and just seem to be wasting it; spending too much time reading and answering email and evaluating new products.

If I survive this tax deadline, I hope to get my new website up and running and sorting out all the products that I think are worthwhile. It will take me months just to upload all the products I have available that are worth using. This website may go by the wayside at a later time; partially because I refuse to send out email about offers. Today there are some pretty good products being offered at reasonable prices. I'm pretty sure I have some affiliate links to them somewhere on this website. I will try and dig them up and move them back to the top of this page as soon as I get my taxes done.

A guy's got to have a little fun once in a while. I follow my hometown College's sports teams. I just spent the last few days in Wichita at the NJCAA Regional Tournament, Both our Men's and Women's Basketball teams were there. Both teams made it to the championship round. Our women lost in overtime and the team from Seward County will advance to Nationals. Losing is always very hard after working so hard to get there. it is difficult to see the great accomplishments of our team at this point because of the agony of defeat. Our men's team won and will move on to Nationals next week. I will be there rooting for them as always.

I found a place to get rotating messages in a small rectangular box, and decided to try it out. It is kind of unique and I will leave it at the bottom of this page for a while. I am actually a subscriber to the site where I found this; I just hadn't visited in a while.

I'm still struggling with getting my new site up and running and I am about out of space on my computer and my 160 GB external hard drive maxed out. I purchased another 500 GB external hard drive for my backups this week end. I guess I had better get around and get it done. Thanks for visiting...Darell

I'm still struggling with getting my new site up and working the way I want it too. I appreciate your patience in my slowness in keeping this site updated. I'm not sure whether you are always checking back, or forgotten us. Many of my friends tell me that You have probably forgotten about the site. I may send an email one of these days just to see what happens. I know I'm not getting any un-subscribers.

A member called me recently and asked about an advertising website and wanted to know if I had heard anything about it. She said, she had signed up and was amazed at the responces she had received. Here is a direct link to it I had to sign up to get it. http://www.DesktopLightning.com/Darell It does appear to be
